A martial artist's journey never ends. It may pause, it may change direction, but even when beginning again, you are still moving forward.

Movement is key. Any movement. Just show up. The rest will eventually fall into place when it is your passion and part of who you are.

Who knew that martial arts would sneak into my life at 42 years old, grab so tightly & cling to my soul for the past 6 years?? Not me. But here I stand with a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo.

So my journey continues after departing the school I trained at for the past 3 years.
For about a month I wandered like a lost child, not sure where I fit in. I met many people, walked through many school doors and after much reflection and many conversations with mentors, masters and peers, I have set new goals and put them in motion.

🥋I'll be training and assisting with the kids mixed martial arts classes at Dynamic Martial Arts.
🥋I'll officially start training in Hapkido as a white belt at Northwest Hapkido.
🥋I'll be coaching kids martial arts inspired classes at Nest Playground
🥋I'll continue to grow my Martialista brand
🥋I'll continue to stay involved in martial arts events like local and national hanmadangs, tournaments and expos.

And who know what else my future holds!! New schools, new instructors, new teammates, new experiences and new places to put myself out there.
I will continue to always be a beginner and to share what I know and my love of martial arts.

A new chapter begins.

Kick. Punch. Love.

Kick punching is one of the scariest things that I have ever tried. I want to get fit, so I tried doing something that would allow me to enjoy life. I understand that this is a scary thing to do, but I am fine with it. I want to keep getting better at it, and I want to try and compete with other people. It will take a lot of time to get better at this, but I want to keep doing my best.
