Shoulder injuries (among other things) almost kept me from testing for my Gold belt, but I made it so this was a really emotional day for me. I have an amazing support system and am so thankful for my coaches, friends and martial arts family.
Ok, for all of you that know me, you know that wearing my martial arts uniform is waaaaayyy out of my comfort zone ( I DON'T wear white and I NEVER wear belts) but... I know that it is part of the journey I chose to take so I need to JUST GET OVER IT! To me, putting pics out there in my gi is really vulnerable but I know that if I am going to create a blogsite based on my Martialista-ness, I have to start showing the real me, in all my imperfection-ed glory ;)
I know next year's photos will be different and I can't wait to see the transformation! And yes, I see all my poor form and awkwardness in these photos, but every day is an improvement, I'll get there! (Honestly I'm just lucky I didn't hit myself in the head with the Bo staff!)
